Establish Your Legacy
You can help save the land and rivers that define our community by donating to the New River Land Trust either in your lifetime or in your estate. Some of your options include:

  1. Make a gift in your will. Talk to your financial advisor about the best way to leave a legacy to the NRLT.
  2. Include NRLT on your list of annual charitable contributions. If you donate through the Commonwealth of Virginia Campaign, the NRLT’s Code No. is 3515.
  3. Make a gift of land. Many people don’t have heirs who will care for and love their land. One donor chose to leave her home and 12 acres to NRLT.
  4. Consider a gift of stock.

Who We Are
The New River Land Trust is a nonprofit organization committed to helping the New River Valley conserve its spectacular scenery, its family farms and its abundant natural heritage of wildlife and rivers. Our aim is to ensure that the serenity outside our doors is conserved for future generations. The New River Land Trust serves the counties of Montgomery, Floyd, Giles, Wythe, Grayson, Pulaski, Bland and Carroll as well as the cities of Galax and Radford.

What We Do
The New River Land Trust works with landowners and local government to conserve the areas most scenic places through conservation easements. Land is conserved for farming, forestry, natural habitat and recreation and is protected against development forever.

In our first six years, the New River Land Trust has helped to conserved over 30,000 acres and 18 miles along the New River. Our work has drawn state and national attention for its success in saving our lands.

Reduce taxes and make a difference
Your tax deductable investment in the NRLT will ensure that future generations can enjoy the natural heritage, scenic mountains and river corridors that make our home a special place to live.
